Requirements
We are looking to hire a full-time Staff Accountant to run all day-to-day accounting operations for one of our divisions, ideally in the Nashville area. This position will report directly to the Division Director. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter passionate about innovation and developing processes, thrive in a strong team setting, like to empower people, have fun at work, and be people-focused!
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of working accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial statements, full cycle AR/AP, internal controls
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- ERP experience is a plus
- Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with the ability to think critically and solve problems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
How You Will Make a Difference Day To Day:
- Manage the full cycle of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Provide timely support to clients regarding billing inquiries.
- Maintain and update vendor and customer accounts.
- Bank Reconciliations: conduct regular daily and weekly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Investigate and resolve any variances promptly.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports following generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Drive month end: ensure adherence to established closing schedules and deadlines
- Work collaboratively with other accounting and finance team members across all company divisions.
- Assist Group Controller in interim and annual audits.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
- Maintain SOPs and train other team members on the updated processes.
- Prepare and file annual 1099’s
- Admin duties include state filings and light office admin duties.
