Job description

The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for a Staff Quantitative UX Researcher to join their team on a contract basis.

About The Team

As a Quantitative Researcher on Etsy's Product Research team, you'll partner with product managers, designers, engineers, researchers, and data scientists to deliver insights that shape the future of human commerce on Etsy. We're a lean team embedded within strategy, delivering research that informs both product decisions and long-term company direction.

About The Role

In this role, you'll own quantitative research studies end-to-end, from survey development and programming through fielding management, analysis, and synthesizing results into clear, actionable findings for partners across the organization. This role also requires the ability to marry behavioral and attitudinal data, so you'll need to be comfortable querying our data warehouse to bring both lenses together. You're comfortable with foundational statistical methods like means testing as well as more advanced techniques including regression and factor analysis. We're also hoping that this person can help build out our dashboarding capabilities and have experience working with and building intercept surveys.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, sociology, HCI, marketing)
  • Experience in dashboard building and backend work
  • Required: Experience with designing in-app user-triggered feedback and measurement programs in digital products, translating research goals into scalable requirements for targeting, deployment, and ongoing operations
  • Required: Experience with R or other statistical software (Python, SPSS)
  • Required: Experience with survey programming platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Alchemer)
  • Required: Experience with building dashboards (Looker preferred)
  • Required: SQL/database querying experience
  • Preferred: Experience conducting research in e-commerce or digital product development
  • Desire to own the full survey research process: questionnaire development, programming, fielding, and statistical analysis (inferential stats, correlations, regression, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle competing priorities
  • Comfortable presenting research findings to stakeholders with a customer-centric perspective

Hours and Location

  • M-F, 40 hours/week
  • Open to all work modes, NYC preferred
