Job description
Our Customer is an American worldwide clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are available in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.
We are seeking a Store Design Manager on a contract basis who will support the Customer’s business needs. This role is onsite in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities:- Design
- Advocate for the design process and design innovation through strategic planning
- Has a strategic point of view on store design process and implementation. Adept and dynamic manager throughout all phases of a project.
- Manage of development for high profile cross brand projects through all phases from concept to construction
- Ability to propose design solutions and recommendations to resolve for project specific issues
- Foster relationships to drive design alignment with cross-functional partners and brand stakeholders
- Key collaborator integrating Design with internal (Architecture & Engineering, Construction, Technical Services), Brand partners and external consultants.
- Perform checks of assigned projects to ensure complete coordination and manifestation of brand specific design standards
- Project Management
- Develop project schedules, identity key milestones, and action tracking for deliverables and approvals.
- Risk management of responsible for Creative Services scope, schedule and budget. Anticipate and proactively identify potential hurdles and drive toward solutions
- Organize and document Creative Services Department workload and workflow. Own intake of design requests and develop execution planning.
- Consultant and Vendor Management inclusive of sourcing, contracting and accounting functions
- Organize project meetings and structure to meet goals and milestones
- Own and facilitate Weekly Project Status Meetings
- Responsible for making decisions to resolve any issues, communicate out to key business partners and executive leadership when appropriate
- Manage Departmental Budget documentation and tracking
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design
- Minimum 5-7 years work experience in interior or architectural design; 2 years retail design preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in supervisory role
- Travel as required
- Flexible to work with Business Partners in different time zones
- AutoCAD, 3D rendering, Photoshop, Illustrator, or any graphic program preferred
- Excellent understanding of proportion and ability to translate ideas, forms, and functions into cohesive design concepts
- Skill to create, understand and translate three dimensional space concepts
- Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
- Ability to multi-task between different brands, scope and project types
