Each year, our Customer helps more than seven million students prepare for a successful transition to college through programs and services in college readiness and college success—including the SAT, the Advanced Placement Program, and BigFuture. The organization also serves the education community through research and advocacy on behalf of students, educators, and schools.


We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Generalist on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote - EST business hours (farthest remote location is CST).



Responsibilities:


Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies aligned with organizational objectives
  • Manage sourcing and procurement activities for Technology contracts under $100k annually
  • Conduct market research to evaluate suppliers across SaaS, cybersecurity, enterprise software, hardware, cloud, and related technology services
  • Support RFP and RFI processes, including strategy development, vendor evaluation, and selection
  • Identify vendor consolidation and cost savings opportunities while maintaining service quality
  • Update sourcing strategies based on market trends, risk assessments, and internal needs

Supplier & Contract Management

  • Lead negotiations for contracts under $100k, including pricing, SLAs, and licensing models
  • Partner with Legal, GRC, and Information Security to ensure security and compliance requirements are incorporated into agreements
  • Support contract execution and documentation processes
  • Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues as needed
  • Support contract lifecycle management and renewal tracking

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a procurement partner to business stakeholders within supported categories
  • Engage stakeholders early to understand upcoming initiatives and sourcing needs
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional partners to ensure compliance and alignment
  • Provide commercial procurement guidance and best practices

Data & Process Excellence

  • Analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities and efficiency improvements
  • Develop cost models and TCO analyses to support sourcing decisions
  • Track savings impact and sourcing metrics
  • Utilize procurement platforms, ERP systems, and enterprise tools to generate insights


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience
  • Experience sourcing within Technology or Marketing/Professional Services categories
  • Experience leading RFP and RFI processes
  • Experience negotiating commercial contract terms
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and contract lifecycle management tools
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically
  • Comfortable balancing big-picture sourcing strategy with detailed contract execution

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • CPSM, PMP, Lean/Six Sigma, or ISM certification
  • Experience in mission-driven or cross-functional environments
  • Experience managing deals under $100k independently
  • Strong commercial mindset with negotiation experience
