We are seeking a Technology Strategic Sourcing Specialist on a contract basis to support procurement initiatives and contract management activities across multiple categories of spend for contracts <$100k in annual value. These activities may include, but are not limited to, contract negotiation and execution, market research, and identifying opportunities for vendor consolidation.
The Strategic Sourcing Generalist will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, Finance, and any stakeholders related to the categories they support.
This role is 100% remote - EST business hours.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies to optimize spend, reduce risk, and enhance overall business value.
- Align sourcing strategies with organizational objectives and industry trends.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend suppliers and technologies across software, cloud and hosting, cybersecurity, emerging technology, and other technology-related services.
- Analyze supplier landscapes to identify opportunities for demand consolidation and cost savings while maintaining service quality.
- Continuously update sourcing strategies through market analysis and risk assessment.
- Lead supplier selection, supplier performance management, and relationship development for contracts exceeding $100K.
- Negotiate commercial terms, service-level agreements (SLAs), and licensing models to achieve favorable cost, risk, and performance outcomes.
- Partner with Legal, Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC), and Information Security teams to ensure contract compliance and security requirements are met.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews, and escalation processes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business units on procurement and sourcing strategies.
- Proactively engage stakeholders to understand business goals and upcoming initiatives.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to improve supplier performance, contract compliance, and policy adherence.
- Gather and analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Develop category-specific cost models and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses to support sourcing recommendations.
- Track sourcing impact against organizational goals and procurement metrics.
- Utilize procurement platforms, supplier management tools, and AI-driven enterprise tools to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Support sourcing initiatives and procurement activities for contracts under $100K.
- Develop and support RFP and RFI sourcing strategies.
- Balance strategic planning with tactical procurement execution.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management.
- Experience focused on technology category sourcing or marketing/professional services sourcing.
- CPSM, PMP, Lean/Six Sigma, or ISM certification highly desire
- Experience with technology suppliers, market trends, and sourcing best practices.
- Experience supporting mission-driven or highly collaborative organizations.
- Experience managing sourcing activities, procurement strategies, and supplier negotiations.
- Strong understanding of commercial procurement strategies and contract negotiations.
- Experience developing and executing RFP and RFI strategies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, supplier management platforms, and contract lifecycle management tools.
- Strong analytical, financial, and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop data-driven sourcing recommendations and business insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with experience influencing stakeholders.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to think strategically while managing tactical procurement responsibilities.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
- High level of integrity, initiative, and curiosity.
