We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager on a contract basis to support fast-paced, low-spend, high-turnaround procurement needs. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic, high-volume environment and can act as a reliable execution partner across multiple sourcing categories. The role requires strong sourcing expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and clear communication to create alignment for stakeholders, maintain accurate records, and ensure seamless collaboration through ticketing systems and communication platforms. This role is 100% remote.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM local time zone, with core availability required between 10:00 AM–2:00 PM PST.
Responsibilities:
- Manage rapid-turnaround sourcing requests with minimal guidance, ensuring timely execution while maintaining compliance and sourcing standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and operational lead for multiple sourcing requests across categories such as Technology, Marketing, M&A, and People.
- Proactively manage sourcing tickets in tools such as Workday and ServiceNow; ensure records are accurate, complete, and consistently updated.
- Provide visibility and alignment to stakeholders through regular updates, communications, and check-ins.
- Lead sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs), contract negotiations, and vendor onboarding for both tactical and strategic needs.
- Deliver real-time updates and maintain transparency regarding sourcing progress, bottlenecks, and resolution paths.
- Support spend forecasting, supplier rationalization, and alignment with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Security.
- Streamline communication, increase ticket resolution velocity, and surface insights from fragmented stakeholder input.
- Apply best practices in supplier communications, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and throughput without sacrificing compliance or value.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3–9 years of experience in sourcing or procurement; experience in fast-paced or technology-driven environments preferred.
- Proven ability to execute multiple low-to-mid complexity sourcing transactions quickly and accurately.
- Experience with Workday or similar strategic sourcing platforms; ServiceNow familiarity is a plus.
- Skilled at managing ticketing workflows, maintaining clean data trails, and closing loops with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in RFP/RFQ execution, contract review coordination, and vendor evaluation.
- Ability to multitask across sourcing categories with urgency, precision, and composure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to tailor updates for executives, legal, finance, and functional teams.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability, particularly in contingent or temporary worker settings.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and motivated to create structure where it’s missing.
- Prior experience in high-growth or technology companies is preferred.
- Must be capable of supporting back-to-back leave coverage and independently managing workload spikes.
