They leverage market research, financial analysis, and innovative business strategies to expand their reach and develop new commercial opportunities.
Why You’ll Love Working With Our Client
This is an opportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact business challenges while gaining exposure to a variety of growth strategies and business functions. Our client offers a supportive, mentorship-driven environment where you can take ownership of impactful projects, strengthen your strategic and analytical skills, and continue growing professionally—all with the flexibility of remote work.
Core Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Strategy Consultant to support growth strategy, strategic partnerships, and acquisition research for a technology-enabled business focused on consumer finance and device subscriptions. Working directly with the CEO, you’ll turn market research and business data into actionable growth strategies, financial models, partnership plans, and executive-ready recommendations to help guide key business decisions.
1. Growth strategy and financial modeling
- Build and maintain a driver-based model supporting the company’s path to its long-term ARR ambition.
- Translate growth scenarios into required partners, customers, devices, revenue, capital, and capabilities.
- Evaluate alternative strategic pathways across OEMs, MVNOs, retailers, product categories, geographies, and platform services.
- Develop scenario, sensitivity, and business-case analyses.
- Synthesize findings into clear strategic choices, milestones, and decision points.
- Update assumptions and recommendations as new market and partner information becomes available.
2. Market and competitive analysis
- Research device-subscription, consumer-finance, wireless, ecommerce, and device-lifecycle markets.
- Map relevant OEMs, MVNOs, retailers, technology providers, financing partners, and adjacent competitors.
- Assess market size, growth, economics, customer propositions, distribution models, and competitive positioning.
- Identify whitespace opportunities where the client has a differentiated right to win.
- Monitor relevant industry developments, partnerships, product launches, financing structures, and transactions.
- Produce concise market briefs that highlight implications rather than merely compiling information.
3. Partner targeting and account development
- Build and maintain a prioritized pipeline of OEM, MVNO, and other strategic-partner opportunities.
- Develop detailed company and account profiles for priority targets.
- Research partner strategies, customer needs, existing financing propositions, decision-makers, and likely objections.
- Map stakeholders and identify potential paths to senior-level introductions.
- Develop account-specific opportunity hypotheses and recommended engagement strategies.
- Prepare outreach materials, meeting briefs, discussion guides, and follow-up recommendations.
- Maintain pipeline status, next actions, owners, and decision dates.
4. Partner propositions and commercial materials
- Help develop differentiated value propositions for OEMs, MVNOs, retailers, and other potential partners.
- Translate partner needs into specific customer propositions, commercial models, and pilot concepts.
- Analyze how potential partnerships could improve conversion, affordability, retention, upgrade behavior, and customer lifetime value.
- Build illustrative partner economics and business cases.
- Create and customize executive presentations, one-page summaries, proposals, and meeting materials.
- Capture partner feedback and incorporate it into subsequent propositions and materials.
- Maintain a modular library of proof points, use cases, commercial structures, and responses to common objections.
5. Strategic partnerships and acquisition analysis
- Support build, buy, or partner assessments for priority capabilities.
- Research potential acquisition or strategic-investment themes.
- Develop acquisition target archetypes and screening criteria.
- Create and maintain target long lists and prioritized short lists.
- Prepare company profiles covering strategy, products, customers, ownership, capabilities, and apparent strategic fit.
- Evaluate the strategic rationale, potential synergies, risks, and integration considerations of selected opportunities.
- Support selected commercial and market diligence work.
- Prepare materials for management and board discussions regarding potential partnerships or acquisitions.
6. Executive materials and project coordination
- Turn complex analysis into concise, executive-ready recommendations.
- Prepare materials for CEO, leadership, board, partner, and investor discussions.
- Maintain the integrated workplan, deliverable schedule, decisions, risks, and dependencies.
- Coordinate information requests and inputs from client functional leaders.
- Prepare meeting agendas, pre-reads, notes, decisions, and follow-up actions.
- Ensure consistency across strategy models, partner materials, acquisition analyses, and executive presentations.
- Maintain organized and auditable source files, assumptions, and model documentation.
You'll Be a Great Fit for This Role if You Can Independently:
- Develop market and competitive landscape analyses.
- Create prioritized partner target lists.
- Research and profile key accounts and stakeholders.
- Build revenue models and growth scenarios.
- Develop partner business cases and commercial proposals.
- Create OEM and MVNO pitch materials.
- Prepare executive meeting briefs and discussion guides.
- Build and maintain partnership pipeline dashboards.
- Evaluate build, buy, or partner opportunities.
- Research and screen potential acquisition targets.
- Develop executive and board-level presentations.
- You would provide the strategic direction, senior judgment, relationship leadership, and final review.
- Taking an agreed question and bringing back a well-supported recommendation, not simply raw research.
Desired Experience
Experience in consumer lending, subscription models, wireless, consumer electronics, embedded finance, or device lifecycle management would be particularly valuable.
- Approximately 5-10 years of relevant professional experience
- Background in one or more of:
- Strategy consulting

- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilities
- Experience creating executive and board-level materials
- Ability to conduct company, market, and transaction research independently
- Strong written communication and synthesis
- Comfort operating in an entrepreneurial environment with limited structure
- Ability to move between strategy, analytics, commercial development, and execution
