Job description
Having experience in the Architecture, Engineering or Construction fields would be beneficial. This is structured to be a mid-level position with an expectation of existing skills and knowledge.
• Work on the company's typical projects: exterior and interior framing, ceilings, strut. May require review but expected to work independently.
• Participate in bid reviews and estimating as requested.
• Familiarity with regulations and applicable codes including but not limited to ASCE, IBC and AISI codes.
• Solid understanding of design software used in office.
• Ability to read and understand design drawings and specifications.
• Ability to compile lists of RFI questions from the missing or un-coordinated information in the contract drawings.
• Ability to compile finished drawings and send drafting markups to the company's BIM team. Including detailed review of returned drawings and overseeing back and forth process to completion.
• Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval with the proper building authorities.
• Act as liaison with relevant project professional staff, such as Architect of Record or Engineer of Record.
• Monitor and inspect work in progress to verify systems are built per engineered drawings.
• Complete all necessary continuing education to comply with licensing requirements.
• Ability to compile calculation packages
• Communicate effectively with internal and external team members, including those in the field.
• Attend and participate in all project meetings as required.
• As you progress, show advanced understanding of CFS topics, with ability to put together a complete package with minimal supervision.
• As you progress, ability to take on complex problems and think of out of the box solutions.
• As you progress, ability to find most coordination issues arising from incomplete design drawings.
• As you progress, ability to independently problem solve field related issues as they arise.
• Growing familiarity with the company's construction methods, including ability to articulate and explain.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering design
• Prior knowledge or work experience dealing with cold formed steel framing.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal English language communication skills.
• Ability to use independent judgement, problem-solving ability, self-starting, and ability to prioritize based on
relevant factors.
• Ability to prioritize personal workload and recognize priority conflicts and seek guidance for resolution.
Preferred Requirements
• Local to office location.
• Experience with Revit.
• Experience with prefabrication and modular construction.
