Job description
Title: Supply Chain Specialist (part-time)
Reports to: VP, Operations
Job Summary
This is a part-time support function for a very small start-up team, the main purpose being to
ensure import / export compliance, and carry out low volume shipping and receiving activities.
This position requires about 10-12 hrs. per week, split into two 5 hr. days per week/ three 4 hr. days per week.
Essential Responsibilities
• Import & Export Control
o Operational import shipment coordination (chemicals, equipment, etc.)
o monitor CBP ACE portal for inbound/ outbound shipment data.
o Support import shipments.
o manually create (edit) commercial invoices if shipments are sent without charge.
o monitor shipments for hold / troubleshooting.
• Shipping & Receiving
o Shipping execution
o Billing contact for Carriers.
o Contact for sales on general shipping topics.
o Customer print documents.
o Carrier orders and pickup/ delivery requests.
o Account admin for UPS, FedEx, DHL.
o Contact for UPS, FedEx, DHL, Mohawk account managers.
• Miscellaneous
o Financial Audit support.
o Maintain Customer On time delivery KPI.
o Follow up on supplier requests, checking shipment status, calling carriers.
o Support ad hoc requests.
• Procurement Support
o Backup to Procurement Specialist for new supplier setup - PNC authorization.
o Backup to Procurement Specialist for PO issues and changes .
o Support Accounts Payable with supplier payment or billing issues.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Associate’s degree.
• 5 years of supply chain and operations experience.
• Hands on import / export experience.
• Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and often-changing environment, with a degree of ambiguity.
• Willing to work in a flexible fashion.
Measurements for Success (KPI’s):
- Standard: Zero Import / Export violations.
- KPI: No of shipping or receiving errors.
