We are seeking a Supply Chain Sustainability Specialist on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.
This role will be responsible for overseeing the measurement, reporting, and reduction of the organization's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the value chain. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, to gather data, identify reduction opportunities, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
The Supply Chain Sustainability Specialist will support increased engagement in the supplier sustainability programs by identifying outreach channels and contacts, updating associated records in the CRM tool, coordinating schedules for meetings, providing timely follow-ups, and supporting supply chain emissions calculations.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying outreach channels and contacts within the supplier pool,
- Updating associated records in CRM tools, coordinating schedules for meetings, and providing timely follow-ups
- Researching and benchmarking on suppliers’ sustainability programs, and on topics such as business travel
- Supporting the collection, calculation, and reporting of Scope 3 GHG emissions across various categories
- Assisting in compliance efforts with regulatory requirements and sustainability standards
- Collaboration with suppliers and internal teams to drive supply chain decarbonization and increase supplier engagement within the supplier emissions reduction programs
- Data gathering from suppliers and implementing reduction initiatives when applicable
- Supporting efforts toward climate strategy development
- Staying informed about climate change regulations and monitoring risks
Skills and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or Climate Science, is strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in sustainability, climate change, or environmental management, with a focus on GHG accounting and project coordination.
- Strong knowledge of GHG Protocol standards, climate adaptation and mitigation frameworks, and sustainability reporting tools (CDP, TCFD) is a plus.
- Familiarity with climate-related regulations, strong data analysis skills (especially with tools like Microsoft Excel), and experience with CO2 emission tracking are preferred.
- Essential skills include project management, strong interpersonal and communication abilities, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to conduct independent research.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to translate complex information into actionable strategies are also important.
