Job description

Our Customer is seeking a System / Software Technician on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is on-site in Oakland, CA.



Responsibilities:

  • Perform bring-up, calibration, testing, and logging of new advanced technologies.
  • Work at a closed-course test track in Oakland, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Work closely with Hardware, Product, and Software teams to improve product performance.
  • Execute and document tests to verify autonomous technologies.
  • Understand system behavior, product capabilities, existing issues, and new requirements during testing.
  • Follow testing processes, programs, and checklists to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to assess system behavior and triage issues.
  • Support operational and business needs, including shift rotations when required.
  • Ride and operate an electric bike as part of daily responsibilities.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or strong interest in autonomous technologies or related field.
  • Familiarity with automotive systems and/or computer systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and process-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to follow detailed test plans and checklists.
  • Comfortable working outdoors.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Comfortable working Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, with occasional overtime.
  • Comfortable rotating shifts with advance notice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable riding an electric bike.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with live field operations or product deployments.
  • Experience working with autonomous vehicle technologies.
  • Familiarity with ticketing tools for issue tracking, feedback collection, and progress monitoring.
