Job description
The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, a small accounting firm specializing in tax returns. They are looking for an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to join their team from December to April and assist with tax return preparation during their busy season. The ideal candidate has prior tax preparation experience, is detail-oriented, and thrives in a remote work environment. This is a remote, seasonal position with an estimated 30-40 hours per week depending on experience. There is no direct client interaction required. All candidates must pass a background screening prior to employment.
Core responsibilities:

Prepare individual and business tax returns accurately and efficiently using Drake Software (training provided)

Review and organize client tax documents and financial records

Identify potential tax savings opportunities and provide tax planning insights

Collaborate with the accounting team to meet client needs and deadlines

Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to company policies and procedures
Qualifications/Skills:

4+ years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns

Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel

Familiarity with tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Good problem-solving skills and adaptability

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Licensed Enrolled Agent, Registered Tax Return Preparer, or CPA

Must pass a background screening
