Job description
Our Customer is an American financial services and digital payments company based in San Francisco, California. They’re working to help their diverse audiences — sellers, individuals, artists, fans, developers, and all the people in between — overcome barriers to access the economy.
We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Ad Operations Specialist on a contract basis to help support our customer's business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Google Tag Manager (GTM) environments, processes, and architecture
- Implement best-in-class integrity and accuracy of the tagging environment using Google Tag Manager
- Develop custom analytics JavaScript to create events and triggers in Google Tag Manager
- Lead GTM projects from inception through completion, including partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders to build requirements, set up and implement, and quality control; projects include, but are not limited to, migration of third-party tag container to first-party tag container, and implementing a master pixel approach for all partner tags
- Work with the engineering team to implement tag monitoring solutions
- Drive effort to automate QA of martech tools when product launches, changes to onboarding, or conversion events
- Establish a Google Tag Manager naming convention for tags
- Regular communication with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to enable iterative improvements to optimizations, tracking, and reporting
- Troubleshoot and QA issues with product engineers and solutions architects
- Maintain up-to-date technical specifications and any additional documentation to ensure accurate and comprehensive analytics tagging and reporting
- Primary point of contact to manage all technical issues and inquiries between and amongst key internal and external partners (media agencies, vendors, publishers)
- Act as agency liaison with external partners regarding campaign tags, data tracking (pre, mid, post), placement scheduling, implementation, troubleshooting, and reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 4+ years’ experience in digital ad operations at a publisher, an ad tech company, an ad agency, or an ad network
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, with firm follow-through skills
- High degree of initiative and productivity
- Ability to handle multiple projects under aggressive timelines
- Ability to collaborate well with teams, proactively manage multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities given specific deadlines
- Expert with Google Tag Manager
- Working knowledge of DCM, Sizmek, or other ad serversis strongly preferred
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills involving technology
- Results-oriented with strong independent and team project management and time management skills
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate/translate complex concepts to a non-technical audience
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL/database design preferred
