We are seeking a Technical Artist on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote, with a preference for East Coast candidates.
The Technical Artist serves as a critical bridge between the artistic and engineering teams, enabling the creation of engaging, real-time experiences that demonstrate innovative technology use cases. This role combines artistic sensibility with technical expertise to ensure seamless workflows, optimized performance, and visually compelling results across multiple devices and platforms.
Candidates must include a portfolio showcasing relevant real-time, technical art, and interactive work examples.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with engineering and design teams to develop and deliver interactive experiences across various devices.
 - Implement runtime logic within complex, performance-sensitive, real-time environments.
 - Support a range of technical and artistic tasks, including debugging, optimization, and workflow improvements.
 - Design, manage, and maintain the art production pipeline to ensure smooth collaboration between artists and engineers.
 - Prototype and iterate on end-to-end real-time experiences involving both environments and characters.
 - Provide and receive constructive feedback, setting clear goals and next steps for cross-functional teams.
 - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve cross-functional technical and artistic challenges efficiently.
 
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing real-time interactive experiences.
 - Expertise working with Unity.
 - Strong proficiency in procedural effects and tooling.
 - Expertise in Gaussian splats, scene, and object reconstruction.
 - Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following: Runtime Behaviors or Asset Pipeline.
 - Experience with major content authoring tools such as Maya, Houdini, or Blender.
 - Proficiency in at least one low-level programming language (e.g., C++, C#, etc.).
 - Experience working with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.) and advanced workflows.
 - Proven track record collaborating effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
 
Preferred:
- Experience developing for VR, MR, or AR environments.
 - Familiarity with emerging AI technologies.
 - Knowledge of game optimization techniques and performance tuning.
