Job description
Our Customer is an American worldwide clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are available in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.
We are seeking a Technical Designer on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is onsite in New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Executes the technical design process from development to final fit.
- Analyzes and evaluates garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
- Ensures that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications.
- Develops technical specifications and communicates fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.
- Makes appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price.
- Typically reports to Technical Services Manager.
- May oversee Assistant Technical Designers.
Qualifications/Key Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion, or equivalent experience.
