Job description

The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for a Technical Program Manager to join their team on a contract basis.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead a high-impact portfolio spanning Generative AI governance, AI vendor strategy, and emerging agentic commerce partnerships.

This role sits at the center of Engineering, Product, Legal, Privacy, Finance, and external AI platform partners. You’ll drive structure across ambiguous AI initiatives while managing complex vendor relationships and platform integrations powering next-generation commerce experiences.

This is a senior, execution-heavy role for someone comfortable operating at both technical depth and executive altitude.

What You’ll Own:

GenAI Governance & Responsible AI

  • Lead cross-functional AI intake, approval, and escalation processes
  • Partner with Legal, Privacy, and Security to evaluate AI use cases and vendor risk
  • Establish scalable frameworks for responsible AI adoption

AI Vendor Strategy & Commercial Management

  • Manage AI vendor engagements from POC through contract and rollout
  • Partner with Finance and Legal on negotiations and security reviews
  • Oversee utilization, cost governance, and expansion strategy
  • Build strong working relationships with strategic AI partners

Agentic Commerce & Platform Integrations

  • Drive integrations with major AI platforms (conversational agents, AI search, AI-assisted checkout)
  • Align engineering, payments, analytics, risk, and CX teams for launch readiness
  • Manage rollout ramps, partner dependencies, and executive updates
  • Navigate product tradeoffs across multiple external platforms

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8+ years in Technical Program Management or equivalent
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional technical programs
  • Fluency in AI/ML systems, APIs, and platform integrations
  • Direct experience managing AI or technical vendor contracts
  • Strong executive communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and high-visibility environments

Strong Plus:

  • eCommerce, marketplace, or payments experience
  • Experience working with large technology platform partners
  • Background in AI governance or privacy processes
  • Territory or strategic partnership experience

Why This Role Is Different:

This isn’t a traditional TPM role. There are opportunities to support other cross-functional TPM programs on this team but the main responsibility will be to maintain the AI portfolio.

You’ll operate at the intersection of:

  • AI governance
  • Vendor commercial strategy
  • Platform partnerships
  • Emerging agent ecosystems
  • Executive-level program leadership

Hours and Location:

  • M-F, 40 hours/week
  • This role can be remote anywhere in the US

We offer a competitive salary range for this position. Most candidates who join our team are hired at the median of this range, ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.

All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States and are required to have U.S. residency at the time of application.

If you are a person with a disability needing assistance with the application, or at any point in the hiring process, please contact us at support@themomproject.com.
