Job description

Our Customer is a Silicon Valley-based company that is engaged in researching emerging technologies.


We are seeking a contract Technical Program Manager to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is on-site in Mountain View, CA.



Responsibilities:

  • Manage mobile and web development programs consisting of multiple concurrent projects
  • Develop program strategy, supporting business cases, and comprehensive project plans
  • Deliver all projects within the IT portfolio on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic and business objectives
  • Ensure integration across projects and adjust scope, timelines, and budgets based on evolving business needs
  • Communicate program strategy, progress, risks, and changes to IT leadership and senior business stakeholders
  • Partner with senior leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage technology to achieve enterprise goals
  • Maintain efficient project management processes, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program and project risks and issues
  • Manage and lead teams of project managers, project leads, and support staff
  • Oversee multiple cross-functional teams across different sites and geographic locations
  • Gather product and business requirements and define key tasks, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules and program management plans
  • Manage change according to established change management processes to control scope, quality, schedule, cost, and contracts
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to program management information systems
  • Monitor, measure, and report program and project performance to leadership
  • Recommend improvements to streamline processes and increase operational efficiency


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, business, engineering, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience managing complex IT programs or large-scale projects
  • Strong experience across full project lifecycles
  • Proven skills in scheduling, budgeting, and dependency management
  • Strong risk and issue management capabilities
  • Experience managing cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
  • Strong conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
