Job description
Our Customer is a Silicon Valley-based company that is engaged in researching emerging technologies.
We are seeking a contract Technical Program Manager to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is on-site in Mountain View, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Manage mobile and web development programs consisting of multiple projects, including developing program strategies, business cases, and project plans
- Deliver all projects within the IT project portfolio on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic and business requirements
- Ensure integration of projects and adjust project scope, timing, and budgets based on business needs
- Communicate program strategy, direction, updates, and changes to IT leadership and senior business leadership
- Partner with senior leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage IT in achieving enterprise goals
- Maintain efficient project management processes, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks
- Manage teams of project managers, project leaders, and support staff
- Monitor, measure, and report on project status to IT and senior business leadership
- Manage multiple cross-functional teams and projects across various sites and geographical locations to gather requirements, define tasks, and track deliverables, dependencies, and milestones throughout the project lifecycle
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules and project management plans, accounting for dependencies and constraints
- Manage change according to the change management plan to control scope, quality, schedule, cost, and contracts
- Capture program status and ensure accurate population of program management information systems for stakeholder use
- Provide recommendations to improve or streamline existing processes
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or Engineering
- 5–7 years of relevant experience
- Experience with project lifecycles, scheduling, risk management, and conflict resolution techniques
- Strong risk and issue management skills
