Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with Orrick in their search for a Technology Training Specialist. This position could be based in any of their U.S. offices (Austin; Chicago; Boston; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Seattle; Washington DC; or Wheeling, WV) and consideration given for 100% remote US locations.

The Training Specialist will be responsible for designing and developing both printable and electronic-based courseware and training materials, delivering live training sessions, and providing ongoing training support for the firm. They will also be required to attain a proficient understanding of firm policies, goals, development paths, and technologies. Acting as a liaison between departments and learners, they will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and project teams. Reporting to the Technology Training Manager, the Training Specialist will collaborate with other department staff, including the Director of Professional Talent Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop interactive learning programs, eLearnings, supporting courseware and communications for technology-based and talent development initiatives.
  • Deliver remote one-on-one assistance, demo-style training and interactive training modules.
  • Schedule learning sessions through the Learning Management System (LMS) in support of rollouts/deployments.
  • Respond to escalation tickets generated by the "Global Operations and Innovation Center (GOIC)" and take the necessary action towards resolving such as delivering training or escalating to an SME.
  • Develop proficient knowledge of core applications and an overview understanding of additional applications as used in the legal environment.
  • Develop proficiency in training approaches and courseware development tools and deliver train-the-trainer sessions for trainers and other support teams.
  • Work with project teams to identify, evaluate and test new applications as well as upgrades to existing applications.
  • Provide feedback on any areas for program improvements identified during training and support.
  • Some travel (up to 10%) in support of training initiatives may be required. If the candidate does not reside in the immediate area of the Global Operations & Innovation Center (GOIC) in Wheeling, WV, candidate may be required to travel to the GOIC 5-10 times per year for projects.


Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience in developing and delivering interactive learning programs.
  • Strong independent work ethic with excellent judgment and diplomacy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Preferred experience in training on IT systems in large firms or legal environments, including courseware and technical documentation writing.
  • Familiarity with eLearning development tools like Adobe Captivate, Easygenerator, etc.
  • Prior experience with UniversitySite or other LMS is advantageous.
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience is a bonus.
  • Additional experience in audio/video recording, editing, and production is beneficial.
  • Fluency in European office languages (French, German, Italian) is a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and write business correspondence and technical documentation.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills for management and colleagues.
  • Flexibility with work hours to meet business needs.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Willingness to undertake other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is:

  • California Major Markets* $62,000 - $79,000
  • New York City $62,000 - $79,000
  • National $59,000 - $74,000

* California Major Markets includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within National range.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick’s estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
