We are seeking a Test Security Specialist on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote - EST hours.
This role leads investigations into AP test security incidents and score validity concerns. Responsibilities include managing cases end-to-end by reviewing and synthesizing evidence such as statistical indicators, test day reports, plagiarism findings, AI-related reports, and other supporting documentation or physical evidence.
The Test Security Specialist applies established policies and legal requirements to reach clear, well-supported determinations, including decisions related to potential score cancellation.
This role also requires professional communication with students, parents, and student representatives—including attorneys, counselors, and educators—to ensure timely case resolution and consistent, accurate explanation of policies. Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive situations with fairness and discretion are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Own AP investigation cases end-to-end from intake through final determination and closure, ensuring thorough, consistent handling within required timelines
- Triage and scope cases by identifying allegation type, applicable policy, evidence needs, risks, and deadlines
- Collect, review, and synthesize evidence, including statistical indicators, test documentation, reports, plagiarism findings, AI-related outputs, and stakeholder submissions
- Analyze patterns and irregularities using investigative reasoning and data review techniques to determine alignment with policy-defined misconduct or score validity concerns
- Document investigative work clearly and comprehensively within the case management system to maintain audit-ready and defensible records
- Develop policy-aligned case recommendations and collaborate with team leads on complex or high-risk determinations
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with internal partners and external vendors to obtain and validate evidence while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Track and report case metrics, including status, aging, throughput, and outcomes, and identify trends or process gaps
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, templates, documentation standards, and investigation playbooks
- Communicate professionally and empathetically with students, parents, educators, and representatives regarding case status and process steps
- Draft clear, policy-aligned written correspondence for sensitive and escalated situations
- Conduct phone and written follow-ups to gather additional context and resolve stakeholder questions
- Maintain detailed and consistent records of all stakeholder communications
- De-escalate sensitive situations diplomatically and escalate to leadership or legal partners when appropriate
- Manage a high-volume caseload of approximately 1,500–2,000 cases, transitioning communications from phone-based intake to email and outbound follow-ups as cases mature
- Ensure timely case resolution by meeting response standards and maintaining forward progress without sacrificing quality
Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in investigations, compliance, test security, fraud prevention, risk management, or regulated casework environments
- Ability to interpret statistical flags, trends, plagiarism findings, and AI-related authorship indicators
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Excel
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and diplomatic approach
- Experience handling escalations and sensitive stakeholder interactions with discretion
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse, cross-functional team environment
- Experience managing relationships with internal stakeholders, third-party partners, and vendors
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Salesforce
- Ability to quickly learn internally developed systems and apply them to streamline workflows
- Ability to work in environments requiring strict confidentiality and detailed documentation standards
- Experience managing high-volume case loads
- Call center or customer service experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience partnering with legal counsel
- Experience in highly regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Experience balancing service delivery with analytical case investigations
