We are seeking a Title Examiner on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote.
Requires the individual to quickly adapt to support teammates and customers’ needs while delivering a world-class experience through independent problem solving and deep knowledge of the exam function. You will work closely with search vendors to deliver search packages that meet turn around times according to service-level agreements. The primary function of this role is to conduct searches on County records and Datarace, review prepared search packages, tax certificates, tax assessor reports, attorney title opinion letters and surveys, to identify matters as requirements and exceptions to be shown on Title Commitments.
In performing the above responsibilities, the Title Examiner must adhere to performance metrics and turnaround times according to established service standards and key performance indicators, which metrics are closely monitored and reported on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities:
- Run and review Pacer, Patriot/OFAC, Lexis/Nexis and DataTrace searches
- Review County GIS Overlay and Satellite Images of the insured property to determine if there are any issues that would require a survey
- Update title commitments as new information becomes available
- Review and approve the following documents: surveys, divorce decrees, trust agreements, probate proceedings, bankruptcies, death certificates, entity articles, and court dockets.
- Able to work in a startup environment and quickly adapt to frequent change, such as new search requirements and new market areas
- Proactive thinker who can see the big picture and who is resourceful and willing to take initiative and attempt to find a solution before escalating
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 4 years minimum of title examiner experience, working within a title operation
- Search and Exam title experience at a national scale; deep expertise in Maryland, Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and/or New Jersey markets a plus
- High attention to detail
- A high proficiency working with various technologies and applications, specifically title production software, DataTrace, Pacer, Lexis/Nexis, Slack and other tools that support Search and Exam
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for consulting with Clearance, Search Vendors, Attorneys and Managers on technical title issues.
- Team player who maintains a positive attitude and supports teammate absences while managing multiple files of your own under tight deadlines within an ongoing pipeline
