Job description

Our Customer is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Counsel, Global Trade & Sanctions to help support their business needs on a contract basis. This role is 100% remote, with potential opportunities to travel within the US for team meetings.

Responsiblities:
  • Counsel and advise on activities relating to U.S. and international sanctions regimes.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of company-wide compliance programs and initiatives, including compliance policies, processes, and training.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Compliance, Trade Operations, Public Policy, Human Resources, Product, and Finance to coordinate compliance programs and initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • At least 5 years of US sanctions (and preferably export controls) legal experience. Experience with EU/UK sanctions/export controls is also a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a broader Trade Legal team
  • Can operate independently to complete work with minimal oversight
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and sound judgment

Hours and Location
  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
  • 100% Remote for US based candidates
  • Possible travel within the US for team meetings
