Job description

Our Customer is an American financial services and digital payments company based in San Francisco, California. They’re working to help their diverse audiences — sellers, individuals, artists, fans, developers, and all the people in between — overcome barriers to access the economy.

We are seeking a highly motivated Trade Marketing Manager on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.

The Trade Marketing Manager will lead and scale the commerce trade strategy to strengthen merchant visibility, product adoption, and customer engagement across owned and paid marketing channels. This role blends strategy, storytelling, and execution, developing high-impact campaigns and editorial content that highlight merchants, seasonal moments, and key product initiatives.

Operating at the intersection of Partner Marketing, CRM, Social, and Creative, this role ensures cohesive brand storytelling and alignment with business objectives across all content touchpoints.

Responsibilities:

Trade Marketing & Merchant Promotions

  • Plan and execute trade marketing campaigns for seasonal and cultural moments (e.g., Cyber Week, Holiday, Back-to-School).
  • Build and manage monthly content calendars aligned with business priorities, seasonal trends, and merchant partnerships.
  • Develop campaign briefs and lead the creative process — from ideation and content reviews to merchant approvals and launch QA.
  • Collaborate with CRM and Partner Marketing to integrate promotions and merchant opportunities into customer-facing content.
  • Analyze performance data to optimize campaign storytelling and engagement.

In-App & Editorial Content

  • Lead creation and publishing of editorial content for digital commerce platforms, driving discovery and engagement.
  • Design and build in-app content using tools such as Figma and Builder.
  • Craft and edit compelling copy that is on-brand, accurate, and optimized for engagement.
  • Ensure accuracy of links, tagging, and store codes in all published content.
  • Partner with Affiliate and Ads teams to align editorial features with sponsorship opportunities.

Campaign & Inventory Management

  • Oversee campaign booking, execution, and performance tracking across multiple channels (CRM, Social, Partner Marketing, Ads).
  • Maintain a comprehensive content inventory tracker to ensure visibility into current and upcoming campaigns.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize placements for impact and efficiency.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting and post-campaign insights to inform future strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Marketing, CRM, and Creative teams to align messaging and positioning across campaigns.
  • Work with Brand and Design teams to ensure creative excellence and customer-centric storytelling.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Legal, and Compliance partners to ensure message accuracy and adherence to brand and regulatory standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS/BA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in Integrated, Product, Partner, or Content Marketing — preferably in e-commerce, fintech, or retail.
  • Proven track record in developing multi-channel marketing and content strategies that drive measurable engagement and conversion.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to align multiple stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience managing creative processes, campaign execution, and editorial content.
  • Strong project management abilities with experience balancing strategic planning and tactical execution.
  • Data-driven mindset — capable of turning campaign results into actionable insights.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, matrixed environments with evolving priorities.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Builder, Asana, or similar content and workflow tools.
  • Passionate about commerce, storytelling, and creating engaging customer experiences that connect brands with merchants.
