We are seeking a Trade Operations Specialist on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (4 days on-site, 1 day remote/week) in Atlanta, GA.
Under general supervision, the Trade Operations Specialist must possess a solid understanding of equity and debt instruments. This individual will develop expertise within the team, enabling effective partnerships across business areas and functions, particularly with trading teams. The role is responsible for ensuring trade executions are confirmed and settled to meet custodian and market deadlines and are accurately reflected in downstream systems. The Trade Operations Specialist will liaise with broker counterparties and investment teams and contribute to process improvements and new fund/product implementations.
Responsibilities:
- Support post-execution trade confirmation and settlement processes for equity and debt instruments.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve post-confirmation and settlement trade issues.
- Liaise with internal and external business partners daily.
- Monitor trade flows and identify breaks in the execution/confirmation process; investigate, analyze, and recommend timely resolutions.
- Manually process trade executions that fall outside automated processes.
- Respond to email and telephone inquiries, ensuring resolution or acknowledgment on the day of receipt.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation exceptions raised by the reconciliations team.
- Actively identify and implement measurable continuous improvement opportunities.
- Maintain and update procedures based on agreements with senior staff or supervisors.
- Assist with system testing as required.
- Support other Operations and GPS teams as needed.
- Mentor Tier I Analysts and provide support and coverage to Senior Analysts.
- Conduct first-line checking and sign-off of start and end-of-day tasks.
- Collate and report team MIS on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the securities or investment industry within trade support.
- General understanding of financial markets.
- Sound knowledge of equity and debt instruments.
- Proven ability to analyze data, make sound judgments, and recommend resolution steps.
- Self-motivated with a desire to further develop financial and product knowledge.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining relationships and interacting across business functions.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with technology applications and software to support trading complexity and automation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
