Job description

Our Customer is seeking a Trend Curator on a contract basis to identify timely, trending, culturally relevant public content. You'll collaborate with fellow Trend Curators and Trend Producers to help users stay connected with their local and global communities through fresh, exciting, and informative content. This role is on-site in Santa Monica, CA.



Responsibilities:

  • Identify trends, tentpole moments, and culturally relevant topics that the community cares about most on a daily basis, while also being hyper-reactive to new unexpected moments that arise during your shift
  • Surface timely, trending, and fresh publicly submitted content
  • Work collaboratively with a group of Trend Curators tasked with searching through thousands of photos to identify tentpole moments, trends, timely conversations, and culturally relevant themes
  • Review and moderate submitted photos in real time
  • Engage in ongoing conversations with engineering, moderation, and product teams to communicate and resolve any issues that arise during your shift


Skills and Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree or experience in the relevant field
  • 2 years of experience desired
  • An expert in US short-form video trends, major pop culture moments, and timely tentpole events
  • Deep understanding of Gen Alpha, Gen Z, and Millennials
  • A highly motivated teammate who is hyper-reactive, proactive, and a skilled communicator
  • Outstanding research and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a sharp attention to detail
  • Strong editorial eye and understanding of what makes an engaging piece of content
  • Someone up-to-date on pop culture, trends, and current events
  • Team player who is kind and respectful of others’ opinions


Preferred;

  • Obsessed with internet trends, pop culture, and hyper timely moments
  • Someone who has a flexible schedule and the ability to work during nights and weekends, as needed
