Job description

We are seeking a contract UX Researcher to support product and design teams by conducting hands-on, primary research to inform product strategy and development. This temporary role focuses on uncovering actionable insights through qualitative and quantitative research methods and translating findings into strategic recommendations that shape user-centered design decisions. This role is 100% remote, with preference for California candidates.



Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute in-depth interviews, focus groups, concept testing, usability testing, and surveys.
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings to produce clear, actionable insights.
  • Translate research outcomes into strategic narratives that inform design and product decisions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure research insights are applied effectively.
  • Maintain research documentation, ethics, and data integrity throughout all project stages.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support community-focused products, helping users discover and engage with groups online.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in user experience, applied research, or product R&D.
  • Advanced Qualitative & Quantitative Research Expertise (usability testing, surveys, in-depth interviews).
  • End-to-End Research Management (planning through delivery).
  • Stakeholder Communication & Influence (driving product strategy through insights).
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end research projects (scoping, planning, execution, synthesis, and delivery).
  • Strong background in qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g., usability testing, surveys, interviews, diary studies).
  • Demonstrated experience in translating findings into strategic narratives that influence product decisions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly analytical with a passion for understanding human behavior.
  • Skilled in storytelling through data and insights.
  • Comfortable collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Experienced in remote research operations and communication tools.
