We are seeking a UX Researcher on a contract basis to partner directly with a single, tightly integrated pod with significant freedom to operate with the time, people, and space necessary for conceiving, building, and launching brand-new products. Research is paramount to this organization’s success - formative research is needed to identify the right latent needs or problems in the world to tackle with product solutions, iterative design research is needed to mold early product ideas into testable prototypes, and creative evaluative research is needed to improve and prepare those products for the market.
The candidate in this role will be working in software provision for quest headset sets in the workplace. This role will be focusing on a third-party ecosystem - working with third-party partners and developers to bring content onto the platform. This role will be working with key teams including developer platform, integrations, and content decisions and integrations. Will work with the team to influence/develop strategy and monetization strategy.
We are looking for someone senior who can direct others and bring together all the research in a holistic way; ensuring that there's upfront alignment on all the priorities. This role will research and identify roadblocks and mitigate some of those risks. In addition, will be working with third-party content providers to help build the strategy of who the business should be working with and bringing content onto the platform. This role is onsite in Burlingame, CA.
What You’ll Do:
- Focus on a third-party ecosystem - working with third-party partners and developers to bring content onto our platform
- Work with key teams including developer platform, integrations, and content decisions and integrations
- Work with team to influence/develop strategy and monetization strategy
- Collaborate closely with researchers, designers, PMs & engineers to identify, define, and deliver meaningful products to the world
- Collaboratively and independently develop and execute research roadmaps
- Lead various research studies throughout all the phases of the product development cycle
- Contribute to product strategy, execution, and go-to-market plan
- Manage research vendors to help augment the work of the research team
Must-Haves:
- UX Researcher experience
- Experience with 3rd Party Ecosystem
- Experience with VR and consumer products
- Ability to influence/develop strategy
- Ability to create a monetization strategy
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time
- Experience with data and utilizing numbers to define and support hypotheses
- Experience with storytelling to get traction with various audience
- Experience with autonomy and decision-making to balance demands
- Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Hours & Location:
- M-F, 40 hours/week. This role is onsite in Burlingame, CA.
