Job description

We are seeking a UX Researcher II on a 12-month contract basis to help support our client’s business needs. This role is remote, but requires some travel to onsite offices in either Bellevue or Seattle.
Responsibilities:
- Own assigned titles end-to-end: scope questions, write research plans and discussion guides, recruit, moderate, analyze, and deliver reports and readouts -- often on a fast turnaround.
- Run both 1:1 usability studies and large-N benchmark/measurement studies, in-lab (in Seattle or Bellevue).
- Partner with production and publishing teams as primary stakeholders -- align studies to greenlight/milestone decisions and present insights that shape sourcing, design, and content strategy.
- Coordinate and collaborate with a shared team research schedule. Handoff and take on titles as milestones and priorities shift.
- Participate in peer review of teammates' plans and reports.
- Manage research vendors/participants and study logistics (device/hardware setup, session materials).
Qualifications
- 4+ years UX research, incl. moderating and turning qualitative data into actionable insight.
- Full-cycle execution: planning, recruitment, moderation, analysis, report writing, stakeholder presentation.
- Interviews, usability testing, and games playtesting.
- Designing and analyzing surveys / quantitative data.
- Bachelor's or Master's in Psychology, HCI, or related field.
Requirements
- Works independently; owns timelines across multiple concurrent studies.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Data-literate -- uses numbers to define and support hypotheses.
- Able to wear a VR headset for extended work sessions.
Additional Preferred Requirements:
- Video game and/or VR user research experience
- Experience working with gestures based input such as hands or body inputs.
- Benchmark/measurement methods; comfort using AI tools to speed analysis

Top 3 Nice to Have :
- VR or PC/Console gaming domain expertise.
- Quant / benchmark & measurement methods -- large-N benchmarks + survey design/analysis
- Rapid, AI-assisted reporting workflows -- leveraging AI tools to speed research planning, analysis, and reporting
