We are seeking a Mixed Methods UX Researcher on a contract basis to help support our customer's business needs. This role is onsite in Seattle, WA, as this is a lab-based work. Hybrid work is a possibility.
As a UX Researcher, you’ll have the opportunity to partner directly with a single, tightly integrated pod with significant freedom to operate with the time, people, and space necessary for conceiving, building, and launching brand new products. Research is paramount to this organization’s success - formative research is needed to identify the right latent needs or problems in the world to tackle with product solutions, iterative design research is needed to mold early product ideas into testable prototypes, and creative evaluative research is needed to improve and prepare those products for market.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with researchers, designers, PMs & engineers to identify, define, and deliver meaningful products into the world
- Collaboratively and independently develop and execute research roadmaps
- Lead various research studies throughout all the phases of the product development cycle
- Contribute to product strategy, execution, and go-to-market plan
- Manage research vendors to help augment the work of the research team
Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field or equivalent hands-on work experience in experimental design.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a consumer product technology environment.
- Proficiency in R and a strong ability to conduct advanced statistical analysis.
- Experience designing and executing controlled experiments, including A/B tests and multivariate testing.
- Proven track record of applying both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Strong coding ability and the ability to iterate through multiple testing and validation
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Experience with data and utilizing numbers to define and support hypotheses
- Experience with storytelling to get traction with various audiences
- Experience with autonomy and decision-making to balance demands
Preferred:
- Experience with AR/MR/VR products.
- Background in 3D environments, gaming, or input technologies (controllers, keyboards, mice).
- Familiarity with product development cycles in emerging technology spaces.
- Ability to communicate complex research results to non-technical stakeholders.
