Our Customer is seeking a Vendor Management Specialist on a contract basis to join their People Technology Team. The People Technology team is responsible for SaaS-based people technology tools, supporting, configuring and developing tools such as Workday and Greenhouse within the people technology stack. We are looking for the right person to help with the People Technology tool vendor management, working to improve, optimize, maintain, and expand the People Team tooling needs. You will be a key contributor to the People Technology Team and will be responsible for managing and optimizing relationships with key technology tooling vendors to ensure the best possible service and cost efficiency. This role involves evaluating vendor performance, optimizing tool usage, running tool evaluations through RFIs/RFPs, negotiating contracts and managing long term tool budgeting and related POs. The Vendor Management Specialist will work closely with various People teams to understand their needs and to facilitate effective vendor relationships. This role is 100% remote.


What You’ll Do:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all vendor-related issues and communications
  • Facilitate regular meetings and communication with vendors to ensure alignment, vendor performance and address any concerns
  • Monitor contract expiration dates and coordinate renewals or terminations as necessary
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and assessments of vendors. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Manage and track vendor-related expenses and budgets
  • Work closely with internal teams to understand their vendor needs and requirements
  • Facilitate communication with internal partners and third party vendors as needed to complete successful payment workflow
  • Maintain People Technology stakeholder database and payment request tracking systems accordingly


Must Haves:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related role. Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Proficiency in vendor management software and tools
  • Experience in using various productivity programs, (Microsoft Office, Google G-sheets, docs and slides)
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Independently motivated with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work independently
