VFX Motion Designer (100% Remote)

We are seeking a VFX Motion Designer on a contract basis to create animated graphics and visual effects for an editing tool. This role is 100% remote.

The ideal candidate will be designing and working with a team of dedicated motion designers, engineers, and a creative coder, collaborating to refine those designs as they are translated into code. The individual will be joining a unique and talented team of creative coders and designers, having the opportunity to work on the editing tool.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and producing text effects, video transitions, and video effects under the direction of the Creative Director or Art Director
• Collaborating with Creative Coder to refine designs in internal prototyping tools, and QA product integration
• Prepare documentation and handoff materials for the Engineers

Skills and Qualifications:

• 3–5 years designing and producing animated graphics and visual effects for real-time products and experiences
• Experience working with technical artists or creative coders to translate designs into shaders and post-processing effects
• Portfolio that demonstrates motion graphics and visual effects design
• Proficiency with After Effects and Figma required

Preferred:

• Origami prototyping and 3D VFX software
• Familiarity with more advanced VFX software
• Experience with filmmaking/editing and short-form video production is preferred
• Experience with Origami and 3D VFX software, and familiarity with video LUTs is a plus, but not required
• Collaboration skills
• Team player – designing with other creative coders and designers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
