What we’re looking for:

We’re searching for a sharp, energetic, and experienced VP of Brand Marketing to join our rapidly growing team. In this role, you’ll be the author and chief guardian of our brand marketing vision and you’ll lead talented teams of brand marketers, enterprise marketers, and creatives. You’ll obsess over the details of capturing the minds and hearts of our moms and customers while staying focused on our goal of delivering triple-digit user and revenue growth.

Key responsibilities:

As a key member of the leadership team, the VP of Brand Marketing is in charge of guiding overall brand strategy and responsible for supporting and enabling a broad scope of brand and marketing activities:

  • Architect The Mom Project’s brand marketing strategy and vision to determine how we best deliver on our goals through bold, creative, and high performing marketing plans and campaigns
  • Manage a talented and growing remote marketing team that will span Customer/Consumer Marketing (Lifecycle), Creative, and Brand & Partnerships
  • Serve as a brand ambassador internally and externally by creating smart, engaging, and creative content/messaging to increasing overall brand visibility
  • Manage a brand marketing team responsible for bringing The Mom Project’s brand purpose to life through breakthrough brand direction and storytelling that drives both impact and enduring brand trust & affinity across all of our mediums and with our most strategic partners, which include iconic brands like Apple and Nike
  • Align on a clear enterprise marketing strategy that incorporates B2B marketing best practices
  • Strategically partner with sales leadership to drive overall brand strategy and approach
  • Manage a lifecycle team of talented customer and consumer marketers, ensuring we’re delighting our stakeholders from the moment of acquisition through multi-year, loyal relationships
  • Collaborate closely with our research and insights (Werklabs) teams to better understand consumer and buyer behavior and meet the specific needs of our target segments
  • Manage a creative team of designers and be a champion for great creative work. The Mom Project is disrupting and innovating a long-established category - and our creative and brand voice should reflect that
  • Expand The Mom Project’s reach across key social media channels and presence at marquee events
  • Develop & manage the marketing budget plan to ensure activities are effective, efficient and deliver successful ROI
  • Report brand marketing performance to senior leadership on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, highlighting opportunities or trends for continuous improvement

Requirements for Candidacy:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience leading marketing teams, including a track record of career progression and experience being a “manager of managers” with the ability to influence, motivate others and guide successful marketing teams
  • The ideal candidate will have HR tech industry, B2B SaaS, and/or two-sided marketplace experience and will have spent time in a startup environment
  • Excellent business acumen, interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer obsession and our core belief that “mom is boss”
  • Proven experience and success across all disciplines of marketing (product, branding, strategy, social media, communications, B2B)
  • Strong background in social media strategy, and an innate understanding of what will resonate with consumers
  • Experience identifying and analyzing the most critical marketing metrics, both qualitative and quantitative to make fast decisions
  • Experience partnering with performance marketing and growth teams to drive talent acquisition and demand generation
  • Experience partnering with sales teams to align brand strategy to sales objectives and targets
  • Proven experience collaborating cross-functionally with numerous business functions including Sales, Growth, Product, Engineering, Community, Data Science, Research, Operations, etc.
  • Possess a willingness to roll your sleeves up and creative mindset that is oriented towards solving problems in original and unconventional ways
  • Aligned with Mom Project core competencies: Entrepreneurial, Lifetime Learner, Inclusive, Tenacious, Empathetic
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Hubspot & ABM platforms is ideal
