***Please note, that all applicants applying for US job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States.***

Our Customer is a consumer financial services company headquartered in Connecticut. The company offers consumer financing products, including credit, promotional financing and loyalty programs, installment lending to industries, and FDIC-insured consumer savings products through the consumer bank, its wholly owned online bank subsidiary.

We are seeking a Walgreens Loyalty Marketing Contractor on a contract basis to support our customer’s ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote (Must be able to travel to Chicago 2x per year for strategy session).

Role Overview:

  • This contractor will serve as a strategic marketing lead supporting the Walgreens Credit Card Program Relaunch, driving alignment and delivery across key workstreams impacting loyalty, acquisition, lifecycle communications, and in-store execution. The role will shape the relaunch marketing strategy, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure initiatives are prioritized, governed, measurable, and ready to scale.
  • Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, structured program management, and the ability to translate business objectives into clear requirements and executable plans across creative, technology, analytics, and operational teams.
  • Own strategic planning and cross-functional leadership for relaunch-related marketing changes
  • Ensure consistent card branding and messaging across acquisition and lifecycle communications
  • Coordinate loyalty platform and rewards implications tied to the relaunch and broader Walgreens loyalty changes
  • Drive in-store acquisition and activation strategy updates needed for relaunch readiness
  • Establish measurement approach and ensure controls for campaign/reward submissions and audit readiness

Responsibilities:

  • The contractor will lead and execute the following strategic workstreams in support of the Walgreens Credit Card Program Relaunch:
  • Relaunch strategy leadership: define approach across value proposition, offers, targeting, messaging hierarchy, channel activation, and relaunch readiness milestones; drive stakeholder alignment and decision-making
  • Value proposition refresh: support new positioning (including “world spend first”) and coordinate implications tied to Walgreens base loyalty program changes, including the transition from Epsilon to Capillary rewards platform
  • Card branding and creative direction: lead card art redesign strategy and approvals in coordination with Goldmind and Walgreens Brand/Creative teams; ensure consistent messaging, approved terms, and headline hierarchy
  • Upgrade/reissue planning support: facilitate planning and execution readiness through cross-functional coordination with the organization partners, Walgreens Marketing, and Walgreens stakeholders; partner with analytics on targeting and offer strategy
  • Loyalty strategy and platform coordination: lead loyalty strategy components, including coordination with Walgreens loyalty service providers and tri-party loyalty platform integration requirements; translate business needs into technology requirements with internal IT partners including the Engage platform
  • Prioritization alignment: ensure Walgreens prioritization alignment to support Walgreens MTL value proposition strategy and relaunch-related changes
  • Execution Enablement: Acquisition, Lifecycle, Spanish-First, Controls & Budget
  • In addition to relaunch strategy leadership, the contractor will enable execution across acquisition, lifecycle marketing, and governance to ensure disciplined delivery and measurable results.
  • In-store acquisition and activation strategy: lead relaunch-driven changes to POS offers, in-store signage, store goals, recognition, and accountability; partner with Field Sales and in-store teams on execution changes, incentives, and training to support relaunch readiness
  • Lifecycle and campaign enablement: support and facilitate client marketing campaigns with central teams (Marketing Solutions, Loyalty COE, Legal/Compliance) as needed to deliver relaunch strategy
  • Spanish-first customer strategy: build a Spanish-first content hierarchy to improve engagement and sales by incorporating culturally relevant language and native-speaker involvement throughout the workflow (not only at translation stage)
  • Spanish-first operating model: deploy a dual-track approach where 50% follows standard translation of legally-approved English creative into Spanish, and 50% receives Spanish-first creative developed from a Spanish creative brief and reviewed legally in Spanish
  • Campaign/reward submission controls: ensure strong controls, accuracy, and documentation to support clean audits
  • Budget ownership: own and manage the Loyalty marketing budget, aligning spend to relaunch priorities and outcomes
  • Best practices and intelligence: work with the Loyalty Center of Excellence to provide competitive intelligence and identify scalable loyalty engagement techniques and platform capabilities

Qualifications:

  • 2+ plus years of experience with credit card products (credit card marketing and loyalty marketing), ability to attend 2x a year to Chicago-Walgreens client strategy session, 2+ years’ experience retail stores/marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Business, Digital-related field) OR in lieu of degree, high school diploma/GED with relevant professional marketing experience
  • Experience in loyalty marketing, product management, digital customer experience, CRM, acquisition, lifecycle marketing, and/or data-driven customer engagement (preferably in credit card/financial services, retail, loyalty company, or consulting)
  • Strong project/program management experience with demonstrated ability to drive end-to-end execution across multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to travel as needed (~5–10%)
  • Strong PC proficiency (MS Office Suite) or comparable software applications.
