Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.
Our customer is looking for a Workday Specialized Technical Consultant on a contract basis to help support their business needs. This role is on-site in Milwaukee, WI.
The Workday Specialized Technical Consultant is an individual contributor responsible for advanced configuration, optimization, and technical problem‑solving within Workday’s Talent & Performance and HCM modules. This role partners closely with the HR Technology team and with stakeholder partners to deliver scalable, high‑quality Workday solutions, with a strong emphasis on configuration expertise, data integrity, and system reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Configure Workday Talent, Performance, and HCM modules to meet business requirements with scalable and secure solutions
- Design and implement complex configuration changes while evaluating upstream and downstream impacts
- Serve as a consultative partner to stakeholders on best-practice configuration approaches
- Execute and support quality assurance and regression testing for system enhancements
- Ensure all configuration changes align with governance and technical standards
- Support testing, deployment, and stabilization activities related to Workday releases
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for configurations and processes
- Contribute to knowledge base resources to support consistency and cross-team collaboration
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5-8+ years of experience configuring and supporting Workday
- Deep expertise in Workday Talent and Performance modules, including Skills functionality
- Proven ability to independently design, implement, and troubleshoot complex configurations
- Strong understanding of HR talent processes, data structures, and system dependencies
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Passion for delivering high-quality technical solutions
- Experience with additional Workday modules such as Core HCM, Learning, or Reporting
