We are seeking an Workplace Investigator on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote.

What You'll Do:

  • Work as part of a dynamic team responsible for investigating concerns involving alleged violations of the Company's Code of Conduct & Ethics and policies. This includes cases of alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation, workplace bullying, and reported financial, expense, and compliance matters
  • Manage a caseload of multiple investigations, working both autonomously and collaboratively with fellow team members
  • Additionally, you will work with HR, business leaders and in-house counsel and will interact with employees at all levels of the company, helping to build trust, understanding and transparency and instill confidence in Ethics & Investigation function
  • Perform complex investigations from intake to completion, including conducting investigative interviews of employees and others, and reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing documents and data collected as part of the investigations
  • Summarize and organize information and documents as part of the end-to-end investigation process and reporting
  • Make objective and analytically sound investigative findings, and provide recommendations and advice about options for corrective action and broader organizational changes
  • Drafting detailed investigation reports, as well as other documents and correspondence related to the investigations
  • Effectively interact and communicate with individuals involved in the matter being investigated, managers and the HR teams that support those individuals during the investigation and post-investigation processes
  • Prepare executive summaries and providing appropriate updates about investigations to executives and senior leader
Must-Haves:
  • 5+ years of experience conducting investigations, preferably at a private or publicly-traded company; and/or equivalent case-management, fact-finding, and analytical experience developed as a lawyer
  • Strong preference for a practicing lawyer, a background in employment law and/or experience of employee relations, especially candidates with experience of working across multiple jurisdictions/countries
  • Deep understanding of the company's unique culture and values and bringing objective empathy to investigations
  • Preference for candidates who have formal certification from the Association of Workplace Investigators, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, or other relevant organizations
